United We Read

Wednesday, March 8th marks the 5th annual United We Read. On this day, volunteers become guests in the classrooms of schools across the county to read to the students. The fourth annual United We Read event took place on March 9, 2016 and involved 224 parents and volunteers reading in 19 different sites. Several local businesses allowed employees time off to read, and many parents and grandparents joined the fun as well!

The event encourages students in their reading, and highlights that the success of students relies on the community surrounding them. This event works towards the United Way 3rd grade reading level goals.
